S1/2 pupils bake a pie fit for a king!

Last Thursday, during a French lesson,  the S1/2 pupils took over the Home Economics room to bake a strange pie which fills up the shelves of French “patisseries” at this time of year…
The pie in question is “la Galette des Rois” (the Kings’ Pie) and no French home would miss the opportunity to share “une galette” with the family around the 12th Night after Christmas – in other words, around  January 6th for the Epiphany festival. Every pie comes with a golden paper crown  which gets to be worn by the person who finds the little charm hidden in their slice.
