Rag bag collection & Blythswood shoebox appeal updates

We have just received our first payment for the Rag bag collection we started this year.  They have sent us a cheque for £71.60.  The community on the Isle has been fabulous at supporting us with their contributions and Primary children are emptying the bin on a weekly basis.

The school was involved with the Kirk and the Blythswood shoebox appeal this year; opening it's doors to any contributions and putting boxes in the shops for further collections.  These were then collated and put into shoeboxes and the children and staff were involved in sorting, organising and filling the boxes.  We filled 29 shoeboxes which were then stacked into my Land Rover (see photo) and taken to the Kirk.  In total the Isle filled 40 shoeboxes (see further photo) with generous contributions from local knitters, members of the congregation and local shoppers.
